The Pearly White RX7 Unicorn

Just looking at the production sheet numbers. I'm curious as to who owns the only Pearly White RX7 ever brought to the US? Would anyone happen to know this? Any pictures of this Unicorn? Has anyone yet to spot it?

XSTransAm 04-22-04 12:59 PM

I dont think anyone knows, somone probably has it and just thinks its a plain white one :( or more likely than not its in mazdas collection..

and its a shame you dont have a utec on that wrx ;)

pugg57 04-22-04 01:02 PM

whats even worse, is most likely, some 17 year old bought, wrecked it, scrapped it :(

matty 04-22-04 01:08 PM

i never heard of this

fastcarfreak 04-22-04 01:11 PM

im pretty sure its one of mazda's collections. I wonder what kind of miles it has on it. I wonder what that thing would be worth to a serious collector.

obviousboy 04-22-04 01:31 PM

i heard/read it was in mazda main US office

rynberg 04-22-04 01:33 PM

It's sitting in the lobby of Mazda US Headquarters, or was a few years ago anyway.

fastcarfreak 04-22-04 01:35 PM

is anyone up for stealing it? Im sure it would sell for a pretty penny on the black market :) Im just kidding for anyone who is wondering!

jdhuegel1 04-22-04 02:08 PM

If you're into VIN collecting, then sure.. Great car to own. Personally? It's JUST a paint code. All the cars are the same. Same with CYM. :)

Exlex 04-22-04 02:18 PM

anyone got the paintcode for the pearly white? ;)

*plans an elaborate scheme for fooling Mazda collectors*

I sold the WRX years ago. I just added two RX7s to my collection. '93 Silver and a '95 Black.

On the WRX I had the TurboXS ecu, it was making about 350hp on the dyno.

EVS.TurboTuner 04-22-04 08:18 PM

I'm interested in buying this Unicorn!!! Someone help me find it!

If it was up for sale, it would have already been purchased by now.

XSTransAm 04-22-04 08:26 PM

well welcome to the rx7s :)

and i wonder how much the car went for... probably a shitload

areXseven 04-22-04 08:30 PM

Is there a way to get the VIN, if so, I can do a VIN search for the last known title holder with address (if title was issued).

MR_Rick 04-22-04 08:37 PM

yes still at the Mazda Headquarters so I heard.

rzograbian 04-22-04 08:52 PM

Its only when you put 'irresponsible' in front of '17 year old' that you have a problem :)

MakoRacing 04-22-04 10:11 PM

Yeah watch it! I got my fd when i was 16, now im 17! But im responsible... ;)

SiKoPaThX 04-22-04 10:43 PM

Ya I'm 17, 18 in a 2 weeks....It's okay old dudes...I understand your sentiment ;) :D

cloud9 04-22-04 10:49 PM

these "old dudes" are the ones that save your ass's when your cars brake haha, so I would be as respectfull as possible

merc 93 04-22-04 11:43 PM

My 93 FD touring was bought from the Regional Mazda HQ in early Dec of 92. It had a magnetic sign on the doors which said: "Mayor Bob Lanier" and the car was used as the Grand Marshall car for the 92 Thanksgiving Day Parade in Houston.

Regardless, it's VR paint still is chipping, along with the black interior plastic paint, and at only 51K miles I've brought it out of driveway nothingness.

Anyway, I think that even with my early purchase of this car from Mazda, my VIN ends with 070 or something like that????

Not all true, Dougie_fresh_007 can rip apart a motor. ( and put it back together) And he is only 17 or was at the time i talked to him last.

With the whole 17 thing, does it count if you are 16, cuz i was 16 when i got mine. Now i am 19 so dont flame, I am gettin there.

merc 93 04-23-04 12:02 AM

Hell... I took 3 trashed Ford Falcons and made one very nice one for my mom when I was only 12..... But, would I want me at 12 driving my FD... ah... NO.

I'll be driving my FD until I get to around 65K miles and then it will just get garaged until my daughter graduates college. No sooner, no later. :)

Didn't he have the "pimp-ass hair"? Damn... Where's jimlab when I need him..

And no, the whole "young" thing doesn't apply to everyone, however MANY times the younger owners are much less responsible... maybe even more careless. We all know there are old morons too... just less in number. :)

travisorus rex 04-23-04 09:12 AM

turbotuner.com...The car isnt for sale. It probably never will be. As long as Mazda is around, they will have the car. Quit asking about it. Even if it was for sale, you couldnt afford it.

bajaman 04-23-04 09:23 AM

It is my understanding that 'The One' was never titled or sold to a private owner, and that is does indeed still reside at Mazda USA's main office.

Years ago, in 1992 I found a never-registered, 'brand new' 1980 Triumph TR8 convertible at a Porsche dealer. Seems that the car had been in various British Leyland dealer showrooms across the U.S. and then had been purchased by an Audi dealership that eventually merged with this Porsche dealership. The deal is the car had just been travelling from showroom to showroom, kind of like a museum piece for 12 fucking years! The car had 458 miles on the odometer and literally WAS like new. I asked what it would take to purchase (the orginal window sticker was still on the car and said $11,800) and the dealer told me he wanted $15K for it.....WAYYYYY to much for that car.
Still, it was interesting to see a "new" car that was that old.

Wow this car sounds pretty. I am a big fan of the color but not big enough to spend that kind of money. Rightn now I am in the process of looking for a white 3rd gen. So if any one is selling let me know.
