Passenger Footrest

Just wondering if anyone has one of these? I had my hands on one briefly, and then like an idiot, I sold it. I'm looking to get a hold one again and have this replicated, since others on this board have apparently been unable to get a GB going. Send me a PM if you like.

If we are talking about the Spirit R passenger footrests, I would be interested, depending on price.

I know that there's interest, people have wanted these for years, but the GB that's supposed to have been organized by Ramy has never happened. If I can get my hands on one again, I'll make sure this happens, so that not only I can get one again, but everyone else can get one as well.

Check with Pure at RX7 Boutique?

He specializes in JDM RX-7 parts, this is actually a part that was made especially for the US spec LHD version. I don't even remember who originally made it, but I remember that whoever did it wasn't interested in making more of them for one reason or another. If I can find one, I'll take it to one of the local fabricator shops and have a run of them made.

Bryan (purerx7) would only be able to get you a spirit r footrest which would go on the passenger side of a rhd. If you look through the GB thread by Ramy he has done enough fabrication and such that the rhd version does not come close to fitting the LHD. You basically have to make a hole new footrest because the brackets would be completely different.

Funny you actually did this post because I was going to start mocking something up this weekend. I was going to find the mounting points tomorrow and begin drawing something up and finding proper materials.

I remember which footrest you are talking about. Just do a search in the FS section on footrest and I'm sure you will locate the final owner.

Correct, I can only get the spirit-r footrest and that is stupid expensive like all spirit-r parts and it only fits RHD vehicles. When Ramy was in Gainesville, he did test the spirit-r footrest he was replicating in my car. It fit fine in my car and was identical to the authentic spirit-r footrest, just for LHD cars. My only gripe was that the passenger side is small enough and with this footrest I felt like my knees were jammed against my chest (im 6"0). I haven't talked to him in a long time nor do I endorse or support anything he sells, so I don't know what is happening with his footrests.

I guess you weren't finished with your previous post when I replied.
