parts from right hand drive steering rack work on left hand drive
Wrecked my almost perfect and pristine low mileage fd the other day - left front quarter panel and front bumper and right rear quarter panel, bumper, and hatch glass.
There has been an out-pouring of support and offers of parts and help from the NW guys to get my car back in shape. The forum is awesome, with awesome people as well. I was offered a front steering rack with tie rods and all, off of a right hand drive to repair broken parts on mine. Are there parts from the RH drive that are interchangeable with the left hand drive steering rack? Thanks for the help! chuck |
What good is a JDM steering rack going to be unless your steering wheel column is mounted on the right side? Essentially all the exteriour parts you listed can come from a JDM.

the actual steering rack itself wont work when you turn the wheel left the tires will turn right. When you talk about parts what are you refering too? The pitman arms, and rods? Or all the lines? You figure they had to make the lines different to be on the right and have to come over to the left.

Chuck,
Sorry to hear about your car. I know you are crushed. Sadly, I don't know the answer to your question. I have a stock front bumper skin, and some other pieces. What all do you need? |
I doubt it, but if you PM someone like japan2la they might know immediately.
The reason I doubt it is because even if you flip the rack, now the PS fittings will be oriented differently. Maybe Mazda plumbed them so it works both ways but?? Dave |
The rack is different
