overheating.. sorta?

so last night I'm driving to my buddy's house, and I notice the coolant gauge shoot up from 1/2 to H, as soon as I move the car (I was sitting at a stoplight) it INSTANTLY went back down to half, so I thought nothing of it.

later that night, the heater stopped working, so I shut it down right away, checked the coolant and added a bunch.

20 mins later, the heater randomly stopped working for short periods of time (5-10 seconds) and I had to add like, 2-3 quarts of coolant every time I stopped.

This morning I pull the rad cap and fill it up again, then start it and let it idle in the driveway to see what's up. Doesn't start leaking until the car overfills the overflow and then it starts leaking out there.. I replace the rad cap with a new 1.1 bar, and while it's open and I refill it I have my friend start the car, and it seems to be fine for maybe 5 seconds, then it starts overflowing and I get millions of tiny air bubbles in the coolant...

the car NEVER overheats unless it's pushed the coolant out, never has any starting issues and never smokes at all (especially not white smoke), so I don't think the coolant seals are bad... what could be wrong here?

Bad Thermostat and/or bad water pump

That is a coolant seal failure.

If you didn't do anything to correct it .......it'll be back ...........................I'm dreaming of a NNNNEEEEEEEWWWWW motor. LOL

It's funny (maybe sad) to see all the posts where someone says they have a problem, and no matter what it is the response is "BLOWN MOTOR". Anyway, hope the problem stays away.

i had the similiar issue. it was a weak water seal... it doesn't have smoke coming out of the exhaust except it's cold in the morning.. .smoked for awhile.
i get the problem sorted by putting a 1.3BAR radiator cap...

realised that it's just a temporary fix.... few months later, the engine was too difficult to start.... water had flooded my engine instead of escaped through the 1.3 bar cap..

so.... try this... in the morning... try starting ur engine... check ur exhaust if any trace of water... and sometimes it might be condensation... but if u see ur floor is wet... means.... smell of new motor.
