optima 51r battery and Jeff's battery tray- pics

here is a shot of the new optima yellow top 51r and Jeff's kick azz battery tray:

I dunno if he still makes them but the tray is top notch and the new optima 51 battery is also very nice, gives plenty of room for the medium ic and rad fans to breath, also much lighter than stock.

Looks great. Fit PERFECTLY.

quick question, how long are the j-bolts used to hold the battery down. i think the tray was designed to be used with the stock j-bolts, but my car didn't have a battery tray when i got it. thanks in advance.

yeah saint, perfect fit, I love this battery/tray combo

This battery will also fit in the rear bin. You will not have to uninstall the rear bins to pull your battery. Granted you will have to cut your rear bin, but oh well.

Nice install by the way.

I just bought a tray from Jeff. He had an extra one laying around and since I'm local he charged me $48.00 for it. The Optima D51R I bought from Knecht's (here in the Northwest) for $109.00. Believe it or not they actually had in stock! I checked around on the web but the best price I could find was $89.00 plus S&H. Total came to around $130.00 (plus or minus a few bucks).

I also have a 51r battery with jeff's tray and the quality is excellent. :)

fyi, lots of nice hold down bars are available for civis, and are a direct fit. i helped jeff a little on the tray design.

Looks nice, I run the same piece. Kudos to Jeff for designing an affordable well built piece.

BRADYMAHONEY 02-27-04 05:04 PM

Where did you get the yellow intercooler couplers?

damian 02-27-04 05:06 PM

special order from turbo hoses
http://turbohoses.com

it is VERY hard to get so you pay a high price for them

chagar 02-27-04 08:39 PM

I also have Jeff's battery tray and it was a joy to finally get it installed. I bought it before I needed a battery and so it sat for a year or more before I installed it. I just wish my intake had been as easy to get in. It was a great piece of work!

Jeff's stuff is awesome

Here's mine with a few other goodies....

He also did a very nice fibreglass reinforcement repair on my passenger side door that has worked very nicely for almost two years.

does anyone know if it will fit with the greddy FMIC? i have a lawn and tractor battery in my hatch that i used to get it running and am looking at the n-tech miniturization kit with the hawker batt but this could be an option price wise.

oh yeah, is the tray still available from that guy? how would i get in touch with him?

damian 02-27-04 11:24 PM

look his name up on here and pm him, his forum name is turbojeff and he did post a few above you in here
