Twin TDO4's..

What do you all think? Sure they're small, but theres two of them, and they're cheap. Cost effective alternative to a single turbo? Is there even a manifold that would hold these for an FD? Would they spool as fast as our seq. twins??

I knew you would be online. Ya im guessing they are from 3000gt, not sure though. Either way, they look new. Your probably right though, im sure it wouldnt be worth the trouble of trying to find a manifold to put them on.

I do wonder what kind of power they could make though. It would be alot cheaper than rebuilding my twins.

No it wouldn't be cheaper.

Anyway figure out the flow requirements of a 3.0l, then figure out the flow requirements of a 1.3l rotary. Then you can at least figure out if they are properly sized.

That looks like a 14 series compressor housing.

The 1st gen DSMs used a TD05-14B. The TD05 is the turbine side. The 14B is the compressor. The TD04 will have a smaller turbine/turbine wheel.

That turbo alone has put many DSM's in the 11's. The problem is that I think it's physically too large to get 2 of them in there.

I just wanted to add that the above pic is of a 1st gen DSM turbo. It is not the turbo pictured in the first post. Those look like 3000GT twins. The 3000GT twins will not have as much potential as a twin set of DSM twins, but in either case, I think space will be an issue.

It'd have to be a custom job and anything is possible when you go custom. ;)

Actually the 3000GT guys use our 93-95 compressor wheels as upgrades for thier turbos.

Thanks for all the replys, I guess the verdict is in though. More trouble than its worth. I still might buy them anyways, these are going to go for about 300 for the pair. Not a bad price when they sell individually for around 200+. Ill find something to put them on..

It really isnt worth it to do. This is why there arent a whole of lot of upgraded twin kits for the seven. Too much piping and for the price most of the time you are just generating the same ammount of power as a single for if not the same price just a little more. There is too much custom work involved. Buy a ball/bearing turbo like the gt35/40 or the 40r and go with that or the bnr 3's he is saying ont he new ones he hopes to make over 400hp on stockers. Go with those dont do custom work on twins.
