Oops... broke off a nipple. help?

Ok with a slip of a wrench I managed to hit a coolant hose that attachs to the rear housing just below the oil pressure switch and oil filter pedestal and an inch on the plastic nipple broke off in the hose and left me with about a 1/2 inch to work with. My question is can that nipple be bought by itself? Looking at the manuals it shows it to be a part of the rear housing and I can't find a part number.

The plastic quick release adaptor that snaps onto the housing is available seperately. In the mean time you can slip the hose directly onto the housing's metal nipple but will have to clamp it tightly.

do you happen to know the part #?

when i broke my nipple (HAHA nipple), i used JB Weld. make sure it is the 24 hour set and not the 4 hour set. i did that to a coolant nipple and it has held up pretty well. in the future i am planning on tapping it. hope this helps for what options you may have :-/

I usually don't use that plastic nipple. I slip the hose directly over the metal nipple and secure it with both the original clamp and a quality worm gear hose clamp. I personally hate that thing as I have had them leak on me often. I don't understand the reasoning why Mazda put it there.

Ok I like the idea of just using the metal nipple. How do I remove the rest of the plastic nipple? I can't figure out how it's attached... Doesn't help that its pouring rain outside.

ok i know there is a metal clip holding it on but i can't figure out how it works so that i can get it off.

Good deal, I would have suggested that you go get your nipple sewn back on, but I guess this issue was resolved a little better.

Moral: Be careful with those nipples. They're fragile.

i knew this post couldn't have made it through without a few of yous guys slippin the nipple jokes.
