one year anniversary with my FD

alot of kids hang around this forum, either owning an FD or not. the forum is a great source of info for those who need help or diagnostics. i have personally reaped of all the benefits

im 17 years old, and i have had my FD for one year 1 day ago. ive treated her well, only boosted (hard) when i went to the track once, and im loving every second of it.

for the past year, ive had highs and lows. first problem i had was in the middle of june of 2003 during a rainy day. i was making a right in the onramp to the freeway, hydroplaned, and hit the curb. i messed up my passenger side right rear wheel and had to replace it, other then that, thats that. i learned a great deal from that incident, mainly on the limits of the car.

at the end of summer in 2003 my differential went out. had to get a new one blah blah.

in december, the car wouldnt start. needed new relays.

A month ago, i got hit on the passenger side fender. i thought it was a hit and run at first, but she was waiting for me at the near gas station.

other then those, ive had no problem with the car. even with these events occuring, i still enjoy my FD. This has been my dream car for as long as i can remember (first it was the 300zx =p). even though i have had it for a year, it still seems so fresh and new to me. i dont yearn for any other car but a faster rx-7 =p.

i keep the car maintained. ive done oil changes every 3k miles, checked on coolant, washed washed and washed the car, and basically keep it prepped up for another day of smooth cruising.

recently, i got a new paint job. just got my rims in the mail today, and im gona mount them tommorow, or whenever i can.

was just in a typing mood =p

i love my FD =D

ps: i hope i dont get put on blast for some reason :(

Congrats!!! I remember those days. I think by one year I had already spent way too much money on the car.....little did I know there was so much more to come.

yeah, isn't it bad to NOT give the car some hell?

I hope he boosts more often, but I think that he said that to prevent anybody from yelling to him about stupid punk kids street racing all over the place. I think he was trying to say that he drives like a mature adult.

Good to know you love your car, but your are still selling it though. My first year anniversary with my car passed several months ago. Can anybody put into truth that if you baby the FD too much it can die prematurely? I've been wondering this. I drove my car yesterday for the first time in about a month (winter storage) and I got onto hard boost many times on and off the freeway. I also installed my bov (apexi) that had been sitting for awhile. I really like the sound to it. peecheew.....

sorry for hijacking your thread btw

and yes each and everytime I drive my car it feels new and fresh to me too. ahhh....I love my FD.

Yeah, my FD was stock when bought.
1 year after it had enough money in it, I could have boughten a nice beater.

Now Im getting a new engine with only 33k on it.
FD aint cheap

thanks for the replies you guys.

i do boost, but the only time i was riding on the throttle was when i went to the tracks that one time.

i do try to drive maturely, just a little over the speed limit =p. i feel better if i dont zoom by a CRX, just to keep their hopes up =p.

also, the car went from montego blue to steel blue metallic, one of the colors from the BMWs
