OMP Mounting Bolts. Size/Thread/Pitch?

Can someone please advise on the size/thread/pitch of the bolts that mount the oil metering pump?
Thanks!

M6 x 1.0 should be the case.

They look much bigger. I didn't even try that size because it was obviously bigger.

Lol, you're right what would I know ;) 6mm by 1.0 thread pitch. Try it you may be surprised, sometimes the obvious isn't so obvious.

M6 refers to the overall diameter of the bolt, and 1.0 is the thread pitch. Sean is spot-on.... of course he didn't give you the lengths, that's the hard part ;)

We have some extra sets of the oem bolts at the shop if you really need them, or you can order from Ray to save yourself some time.

In general, the FD uses a lot of M6x1.0 (with 10mm head), and M8x1.25 (with 12mm head). From what I've seen, typically the sizing is 4mm smaller than the head, ie a 14mm head bellhousing bolt is an M10, etc.

Rich, I would say the length is the easy part, all you need is a ruler or tape measure which anyone has and measure the thickness of the mounting surface(OMP) then add 5mm. I assume most people have a ruler versus a thread gauge maybe I'm off on that.

I suppose what I meant was that it's the hard part to remember..... I know most diameter and thread pitch due to using a tap and die set often, but definitely don't remember the lengths.

Did you put me on your ignore list on AIM or somethin? You're never around lately :(

Ok. Maybe it's not the omp, but the m6 1 bolt was too small. The mechanism I am referring to sit below the wastegate and below the precontrol and looks to have an similar actuating arm as well. On my way to home depot. I guess I'll try m8 1.25.

That is definitely NOT the omp ;)

M8x1.25 will work, it's a shortie bolt, not long at all.

s1mpsons 03-24-10 03:40 PM

bah! just bought the M8 1.25, but length is 25mm. Could have gotten 12mm shorty but figured it needed more than just 12mm. Do you think 25mm could work?

EDIT: What is this piece anyway?? Sequential Turbo Control Actuator #328?
