OMP/MOP question

Looking at the lines going to my oil injectors one is brown one is yellowish, what does that mean? does it mean that the one rotor isnt getting oil?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can test by pulling the lines off the block and running the system for a short period to see that the lines drip oil. There is a certain quantity they are to deliver over a certain length of time. This is covered in the FSM.

how do you run the system, is it just like running the fuel pump through the diagnostic box?

When mine looked like that they were very brittle. I replaced them with SS lines or you could go premix.

It is days like these that I wish I had my FSM here at work. There is a section that covers it. I am not finding it in the on-line manual though.

I believe that is correct, it is just a matter of which prongs to engage.

The engine must be running to get oil out of the OMP. The engine powers the pump.

how do you check the omp lines with the engine running the only way i can see them is to have the uim off.

Can someone answer my basic question or back up my thought. I think my omp isnt working because one line is brown and the other is yellow, am i correct in this thought?

You should be able to get under the car with a bright light and see them at the OMP end.

Calling all shop manuals. Can someone find the section for testing the OMP. They activate the system and drip oil out the lines.

If anyone cares at this point, I found the shop manual reference I was looking for. Only the discussion is in the 1986-88 2nd Gen shop manual. Nevertheless, the same means of testing would work on the 3rd Gen. Basically, Damon B is correct (as always). What threw me was the image in my head of two lines running into a catch can suggesting that it was the two lines pulled from the block. As it turns out, the shop manual recommends attaching two new test lines off the metering pump to measure the volume of oil being delivered. You can find all of this at www.iluvmyrx7.com. It is found in the "Lubrication" section at page 2-7.

You see! As it turns out, I was only half-nuts.
