OMP modification for the adaptor

I just got the RA adaptor in yesterday and I am now reading alot of how it will not fit and such, the only answer I have been told is to pull the drive assembly apart to rotate the gears so the wiring does not hit the exhaust manifold. I have been searching for a how to on it but have not found it yet. Does anyone know how to do this in detail or know of the thread that contains that answer? haha.

Search for clocking OMP.

You can either clock it or get a 99+ (RX-8 included) OMP which will fit and plug right in.

So if you get the rx8 omp will that solve the issue with using the RA adapter?

Monkman33 Feb 12, 2011 11:49 PM

No. the rx8 omp has more than 2 lines coming off of it. By 99+, he means from a 99 or newer FD. I believe Japan2LA sells them every now and then.

So if i grab the 99+ spec one will it work without any mods or is it going to be the same hassel?

99+ will work hassle free. It has a lower profile so the plug and the turbo oil drain line don't become an issue when installing the RA adapter.
