ahemm.. lets say you were putting in some new fuel rails and lets say.. ahemm.. your mechanic sorta' hacked off the regulator thingy at the top of the oil meetering pump injector thingy at the top of the front rotor ..so now there's just an oil line going there and no way of regulating the oil injection ..ahemm.. how bad would that be ??

Those check valves you're referring to only serve to prevent oil from being drawn into the combustion chamber under vacuum.
The stepper motor on the pump is responsible for overcoming boost pressure.

Anyhow, you will see more oil consumption on that rotor.
Ahem... I think you should get it fixed :)
