Ok, so i just got the 7 back from a so called rx7 mechanic ( worked for Mazda) and I've had some boost problems, so I take off the intake elbow and also the one from the IC to the turbines and in front of my face i see a couple of things that don't look right. Please take a look I am no mechanic by any means.
Any one has an idea what the connector goes to and what is the small round piece connected to the vacuum hose.. :wallbash: |
the blue connector is for the CA93 and 94 egr valves, and the empty nipple is for the automatics. the other thing is a filter, and its all supposed to be there like that.
the way it is in the pics, is how its supposed to be |

You owe the mechanic an apology!
And why don't you read and study Section F of the manual so you will be more knowledgeable. |
My question is, is the car running okay since you got it back from the mechanic? Boost doing the 10-8-10 like it should?

And that one 'open' solid tube is supposed to be like that as well. I think that's some sick Mazda engineer joke.

That open tube is there for a vacumm hose that is used by the automatic cars only. +1 again, everything there is correct. Also, these cars have so many problems, and are so fragile that more often than not, when you start digging in and working on these cars more stuff gets easily broken (rubber and plastic parts in particular). The only solution is that when you are getting your car serviced always be aware that other problems may need to be address once things start coming apart. IE. like I never try to do a rst's nest vacumm hose job without having one or two extra solenoids laying around because I may accidentaly break one even trying to be very careful, OR one may already be broken once I get down in there. Try to work with your mechanic as best you can when getting these cars sorted out, it will save a bunch of time and headaches. Good Luck =) |
Just for my information, what exactly goes in that empty slot for automatic cars??
|
well thanks for the info. And by the way i didn't call my mechanic and yell or anything. I wanted to ask the masses of this forum first. :icon_tup:
