Old question- searched... import jap 7 (im military)
 

Yes I know this has been brought up a bunch. Most of the threads I searched through were old.

1. Im in the service so they would pay for shipping.
2. I already have a 93 (could use my parts for meeting DOT standards/criteria)
3. Besides customs/DOT paperwork what else could there be?

Please be considerate as this is kind of a different situation.

Welllll, technically the "newer" 7 is for me while the wife is still planning on the skyline. Were still looking. We may go to Okinawa next.

Im torn between dumping 15K+ on my existing car verses buying a newer one from here and using my current chassis to meet any DOT requirements.

Since when does the military pay for shipping for buying a POV? What branch?

They pay for POV's to be shipped overseas or back? The Corps won't move one of my cars for me stateside!

There is a school of thought which holds: 1. Do not ask questions to which you might not like the answer, 2. Do not ask leading questions, and 3. Ask only as many questions as it takes to get the answer you want.

A couple years ago the people on both sides--UK and US--were not the sharpest tacks in the box. You could get away with a lot, yet get hassled for minor things. (I was once forced to wash a car at Felixstowe before they would accept it, LOL.) There were things which should not have been possible, yet were not even questioned. Sorry to be obtuse. The USAF ships both my wifes car and mine to our base we are getting stationed at. When we return to the states I might have a newer 7 to play with.

Some bases you cant though, Korea's for instance. Unless you're of high rank.

There are a lot of guys here on base that brought back skylines and silvias. (england)
