Ok so average stock 13b motor...
Ok so average stok 13B motor lasts about 100k (estimate) ... I was wondering If I were to drop a 20B or a street ported engine from a shop, is the life expectancy the same ? Or is the 20b and a streert ported engine have a longer life expectancy... Keep in mind the engine would be boosting probally twice a day or so. Thanks for the help in advance.

Starting with the fact that you could replace 5-6 13B motors for the price of a 20B install. |
100k? no way no how

Yeah after rereading that i was like wait a minute...Average lifespan of a motor in an FD is definately NOT 100k. I know there are a few examples of 100+ like yours, but average would be much less

The only real death of a rotary should be due to coolant seal failure. If it died do to apex seal failure, something fucked up. TT Rex 7 is right. As long as you treat the car right its not hard to get to 100k or further. I know the previos owner on my car managed to get in the 110's before it finally died. Coolant seal failure of course.

I do understand what you're saying. It is a wear item. Personally I've never seen them fail just because they were worn down too far. |
my motor got 120k

a ported 13B will probably not last as long as a stock but it all depends on how you drive and what mods you have. Chances are good you wont keep your foot off the gas once you do some decent porting work. I wouldnt even worry about 20B life because you wont do that.
The mods you have and the way your drive will do more to determine the engines lifespan. |
I'm not that stupid i know how long these motors can last, I've been reading this forum for quite some time, and like many others even did a motor swap :) My info was based on if you were looking to purchase a FD most of these cars have had there motors replaced say 70k on average.
