HKS-Hi Power For FD - Should I buy?

Hello, I’m looking into purchasing the HKS Hi Power for my FD. For the people who have the exhaust how is the sound while cruising and highway driving?

It's a nice exhaust - fits good, good sound and well built. It's middle of the road as far as sound - not crazy loud, not super quiet.

If you still have a stock main cat most any exhaust isn't super loud. Once you replace that is when things get REAL loud.

I think you'd be happy with it.

Well I’m planning on going Hks downpipe and resonated midpipe in the future. Would these make it really loud where I couldn’t hear while cruising or highway driving ?

Seems like you're more concerned with sound. Maybe look into something more quiet, and definitely get the resonated midpipe if you go this route, Mine is on an un-restricted downpipe and midpipe because race car. It's moderately loud at mid-range, and really gets noisy as revs increase. Pretty good at idle / stop lights, though.

My advice is to look for some youtube sound clips or find another rx-7 owner with that exhaust. Those should help you make your decision.

^ I had one of those Kakimoto mufflers once, that's a nice exhaust.

The quieter the exhaust is, the more it can impact performance. When you start making bigger numbers the more free-flowing the better, it's always a trade off. I think I saw a single turbo FD lose like 50hp with a Racing Beat dual tip. That's not a bad exhaust, but at a certain power level it was too much restriction.
