oil in UIM, intercooler and piping... cause for code 11?

Recently while driving my 93' touring FD w/ 69k miles, the engine check light has come on and off regularly. I self diagnosed it and found it to be (code 11) the intake thermosensor. The car has also been studering while driving below ~3k rpm. seems to be running real rich as well bc i am backfiring alot. i belive these are symtoms associated with a faulty intake thermosensor. So today i decided to take off the UIM and have a look at the wiring of the sensor just to make sure before i bought a new one. While taking the UIM off i noticed that there was oil in it. Upon further investigation i found oil in the piping to the throttle body and oil in the intercooler. Is this normal? seems to be leaking oil from the Y pipe as well. My after market intake is also alittle oily. almost seems as if the BOV is throwing oil into the intake. Anyways, my main question is, could this oil be covering the sensor, making it trip and causeing my car to studer on acceleration? would the oil be hot enough to do this? the sensor itself isn't cover with too much oil BTW. Is this much oil normal in the air system? I will post pictures as soon as i can find my digi cam. but from what you have read: penny for your thoughts? thanks in advance to whoever takes the time to read this :)

oh and btw, i do have a pefect boost pattern (spikes sometimes though) i know i will need to replace my turbos at some point if they are the cause of all this oil (which is my assumtion) how much more time do i have on the turbos? (estimated guess)

some oil is normal. you sound like your turbos are going to need some work. does it smoke out of the tail pipe? at idle? at hard accel? you need to look at the wiring for the sensor. ohm the sensor if you can. it goes on and off because i dont think it is a stored code. every time you cycle the key it will reset and possibly re-fail. at room temp it shoud show 2.2 - 2.7 k ohms

kev,
just replace it and be sure, it may have the correct resistance at room temp but may get all f-ed up once it heats up, does it only do it when the car is warm or even when its cold. Oil shouldn't short it out I wouldn't think, but I'm no expert. Better get it runnin by this weekend, don't want it to miss the meet!
