Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but a bad PVC valve can cause that.

Sounds like its time for you to give BNR a call.

Could someone point out where to find the PVC valve and how to test it. I think I have too much oil in the IC tubing. A bit more then a slight coating. I have heard that this could be bad and may need replacing. But my gut feeling and with my luck it is the upgraded parallel stage 2 BNRs.

Thanks

Whats a bnr? and how do i fix it? i coulndt be the turbo then hu? at least i hope not! thanks for the replies if anyone else has any ideas please post them!

just to make sure...the BOV emits oil mists. make sure its the BOV first

Have you done some hard cornering this will cause the oil to splash into your intake system.

Check your PVC valve to make sure its ok.

Dont know anything else. Got blue smoke out the back under boost? Burning alot of oil?

Could be a sign of bad turbo's

BNR are turbo specialist

thanks ya i have been conreing hard but would that make it pool up that bad? no smoke from what i can tell! how do i check my PVC valve? BOV? blow of valve? my fd doesnt have a blow of valve at least as far as i can tell?
oh ya at idel when warming up it will shake sometimes could that cause the oil problem too?

Thats the BOV honestly there is no reason to check it, it lets out oil its part of its normal operation.

THe PCV valve is on the UIM (Upper Intake Manifold) its a big black check valve on toward the front side near the throttle body.

BNR is a company that rebuilds/upgrades the stock twin turbos. pretty sure that people were suggesting it might very darn well be the turbos.

There was an upgrade in oil-pan design in mid-1993 (approximately) to change the baffling. I know because I had it changed under warrantee to reduce oil splashing which had resulted in copious quantities of oil in the intake during hard left-hand turns. In the hard left-handers, there was a huge cloud of oil smoke from the exhaust even with the stock cats prior to the change. The new pan significantly reduced this problem.

If you buy an aftermarket one with set baffles wont this slow the return of the oil back to the engine?

DaveW 05-12-04 01:36 PM

In non-dry-sump racecar (and other high cornering g-load application) engines, oil pan baffling allows oil to return to the pan freely, while hopefully preventing oil from getting stirred and foamed up by moving engine components, or sloshing into vent passages and other places that could cause problems. The design of these baffles/deflector-plates can be very complex to accomplish this without restricting drain-back. In dedicated racecar engines, dry-sump systems (still with extensive oil pan baffling) are used to better accomplish this.

Have you seen the Mazdatrix baffle's I think it is. ( I think its mazdatrix) Ive heard it doesn allow it to go back. I plan to do track soon thus why Im looking into one.

DaveW 05-12-04 01:56 PM

I have no knowledge of any aftermarket FD pans. I no longer drive my FD at track events, since I have another car (SCCA Formula Continental) that I race.
