oil pressure gauge and poor idle help
I just buy a 97 rx7 3 weeks ago,and when I start my engine. The standard oil pressure gauge show to 4 after warm up then driving.I found sometime drop to 1 or 2 .I saw a post it may the connector dirty.or any other problems in my car?And also, when I start my car the idle rev is 2000 and after warm up 5 to 7 mins it also stand 900 to 1100 .How can fix this problems?

the oil pressure gauge is the sending unit, i just bought an aftermarket one and i my oil pressure is dreamy, then on the idle problem just tune ur TPS - throttle position sensor w/ a voltmeter. that should help a little bit.

When you start your car at least on the American versions the car has an automatic warm up which revs the engine to about 2K-3K rpms in order to warm up the engine faster. This is completely normal. In order to stop this just blip the throttle as soon as u start it up and it should return to the normal 900 to 1K rpm range.

1. EVERY car made has a higher cold idle, usually between 1600-2000 rpm. This can be adjusted.
2. Clean or replace the oil pressure sensor unit. It is on the driver's side of the oil filter pedestal. 3. You either have a small vacuum leak or you need to adjust the idle a little bit. There is an air bleed screw under the intake elbow. |
Also, if you start the car in gear (with the clutch in obviously) it will not rev up.
