Oil Pressure Fluctuates...
Oil pressure will go to practically zero, to mid-level (I think 60) to practically max (120)... any idea what causes this? The car usually will idle at a light at very low pressure, then once I get going again will jump up to mid-level pressure. It doesn't usually jump to max pressure... it did today cuz it had a rough time starting, so that probably had something to do with the high pressure...
Any idea what to check? Thanks. |
common issue. replace your sending unit.
try cleaning the copper connector first though |
Sounds good, so it isn't something that will kill my engine, rather just a bad sensor.
Any write-ups on how to do this? |
unscrew the old one, screw the new one in.

That's my writeup. Oil pressure senders frequently go out, VERY common problem. About $80 for a new sender. Piece of cake to install the new sender, too. Dale |
Just what I needed. I'm learning to work on this car as I go... so I kind of need to be walked-through everything I do. Hopefully that will change one day.
