Oil Pan Gaskets!!!

Sorry, but I know that there was a thread on about this already but just that I only have only two more hours to work on the car.

So what kind of gasket is best for my oil pan.? The tech. slapped some weak paper gasket on it and it starts to leak already. I just need to know what kind of gasket is better. does the dealer sells a specific oil pan gasket for the rx7??

I was thinking about using those copper gasket maker at autozone?

m2 performance says the stock OEM gaskets suck and they do not even use them. they use silicon instead of a metal gasket to prevent oil leaking from the pan

using a small sharp punch dimple the lip and the mating surface of the block. make sure the oil pan lip is flat after dimpling it. clean it throughly with brake clean block and pan dont over torqe it and use a shit load of good brand name rtv of your choice. honda-bond is amazing as is the orange 3m. black permatex will also do. this is an old school trick.

ya never use gaskets, the engine twists, so it breaks any kind of seal you get from the gasket.

What I have done is run a good size bead and then st the pan on. I then put the bolts in but do not torque them. I let the RTV harden a little bit then torque the bolts down. This keeps you from squeezing out all of the RTV.
