Oil leak driver side
 

Im thinking about taking my car to the mazda dealer so i don't have to deal with it...

my oil level sending unit is not leaking
oil pan rtv done with right stuff permatex, no leaking
oil filter pedestal not leaking
oil line on front cover to coolers not leaking
dont think its the filler neck
and i replaced the crush washers on the lines sending oil to the turbos.

i dont know what it is...

when i drive it drips a bit. when i stop or after i turn of the car, there is usually a small pool on the ground. before the driver side motor mount, but after the front cover oil cooler line.

any ideas?

and i just bought a new 13b from malloy mazda. any advice is appreciated. thanks.

car is mostly stock, no gauges etc.

and its not really any spatter or anything, just more or less a seepage. from under the car i can see oil drops forming on the PS/AC bracket and what not.

Weird that the location you are seeing oil you believe it isn't leaking from there. I'm certain a few highly experienced owners will chime in in due time but...

1) Oil Pan Brace. The best part of pulling my motor is putting one of these on. Over the years this seems to have become a "must have" for keeping pesky oil pan leaks to a minimum.

2) Power Steering Pump: I've seen the PS lines go bad with time up by the reservoir and leak all over the damn place. Just dealt with this myself. Check there.

Did you check the rear of the cooler line? I've had mine leak there.

Check the lines coming off the oil filler neck. If they're cracked (or not connected) you'll get a mess all over that side of the engine.

rear oil cooler line is good. and a brace is something i will invest in when the oil pan starts to leak.

lines on the oil filler neck you say? you mean the line going down towards the engine? not the UIM right? i noticed when i put my engine back together that the line was very hard but i thought it usable. i will definitely check that.

What does that connect to btw?

I think it might be one of the power steering lines check your power steering fluid reservoir and see if its low.

I cannot for the life of me get my new oil pan to stop leaking. Even though I am under the car it is hard to find the small leak. Today will be the second time I drop the subframe, pull the pan, get oil all over me, clean clean clean, inspect for warpage.... My new engine has yet to see the streets!!!

Ps I did not use the oil pan gasket the other two times but will use it toady.

I had a leak just like yours, it was only leaking when the car was running, i thought it was the oil sending unit, then the oil pan originally because the oil pan was always wet with oil, and it would run down the oil pan seal area making the transmission wet also. So I jacked the car up and started and let it run and a observed what I thought was the leak from the front drivers side of the oil pan but where it actually was coming from was from the front engine cover joint just where it intersects with the oil pan drivers side front. The oil leak was very slight but it would track down the pan gasket seam making it look like the pan gasket was the culprit!
I resolved my problem by obtaining some some spray sealer that was claimed to seal oil gasket leaks without removing gaskets. I was skeptical but obtained the stuff, cleaned the area real good with engine degreaser, brake cleaner then with acetone as a final clean, I sprayed the front cover area and the oil pan gasket area with about 6 or seven coats as directed. It looked like shiny clear bubbly ice coating after it set up, but I thought I would give it a try. I let it set up over night prior to starting the car and letting it get up to temperature. I got under car again and just kept starring for at least 30 mins. waiting for the leak to appear, but it never did. Took the car for a 60 mile or so spirited drive, and parked it over a large piece of card board to see if any drips might appear, let it sit for about two hours pulled the cardboard out from under the car and found no sign of any oil drips. Put the car up on the ramps crawled under and could not find any fresh oil in the previous leaking area. That was early last summer and I probably put about 900 miles since the the temporary leak fix and it still shows no sign of a leak!
It worked for me so far, beats pulling front cover or oil pan for now!

id love to use the temporary fix but i cant drive comfortably without knowing its bulletproof. haha

anyway. i just rechecked everything and torqued down all bolts. replaced some oil hoses etc. havent driven her yet but i will this weekend.

power steering fluid is full and no leaks.

One nipple goes to the UIM with a PCV (one-way check valve) inline to keep the oil pan from seeing boost. The other one goes to a hardline which then goes to the compressor inlet on the front turbo (small black 90 degree elbow with two nipples, the other one is for the pair of rotor housing oil injectors).
