Oil leak caused by over filling
 

I sealed an oil leak I had (front cover, it only a temporary patch) and filled the car up with 4 quarts of 20w-50 and took it for a ride and no leaks. Well for some reason I decided to add another quart of last night, because, well I'm not sure why. Today after a highway drive i was leak pretty bad and when I checked the oil about 7 hours and it was still full. I guess my question is can a oil leak be caused by over filling the the car?

Any help would do.

Ovefilling your oil level above the indicated mark could ruin your engine. Resist those urges to just add another quart.
