Oil: Dipstick says "Full" but don't see it in oil filler neck...
FDZero, def. not trying to rag on you, so I'll keep it short and to the point.
- You don't top off the oil via the oil filler neck. You should know that the FD takes 4 - 5 quarts per oil change. Let it drain completely, put 4 in only, CLOSE the cap
turn on the car, let it idle for 5 seconds or so, then turn it off. Wait a minute. Pull the dipstick, wipe it clean, put it back in, then pull it again and check the level. IIRC, the owner's manual says from the L to H mark is 1.8 quarts.
- Periodically check the oil level via the DIPSTICK. Rotaries burn oil, so it will lose quite a bit. You prob need to top it off (BY CHECKING THE LEVEL VIA THE DIPSTICK) at least once between oil changes (every 2500 miles) - unless you drive like a wuss haha. I'm emphasizing topping it off by checking the level on the dipstick because some IDIOT used to just put in a quart blindly every week, w/o checking the level. Only add AS NECESSARY.
- The only fluid you add until it's topped off 100% to where the neck is and you're gonna put the cap on, is your coolant and windshield wiper fluid. Everything else (brake/clutch fluid, power steering fluid, coolant reservior, etc) all have Min and Max levels w/ a line. Adhere to the line.
And as some friendly advice, hang around some gearheads or even take a basic automotive mechanics class to at least be VERY familiar w/ the basics, or your 3rd gen won't last very long. Really. You can make many mistakes on a Honda, but w/ the FD, one mistake is often one too many - and costs thousands to repair.

I knew it was a question that was very basic and feel like a dummy once knowing it.
When I got the FD, first few things was oil change, plugs, and fuel filter. I put in 4.7 quarts of fresh new Royal Purple 10W-30W oil (ha, here goes the synthetic vs non) and oil filter. To be honest, the oil, was never full to the filler neck (just based on the FSM). My mistake for not knowing something this small but it never came to me 'til recently. Ha, that's why it's called a filler neck. I check my fluids all the time. Thanks, Ramy

And the fact that you changed the fuel filter yourself is somewhat impressive, as it is rather difficult (in terms of changing a fuel filter).

Funny, first time I've seen this one. Dont feel too bad though, I've heard horror stories about people putting tranny fluid in oil neck, oil where tranny fluid's supposed to go, etc.

Don't feel bad, an old friend of mine was employed part time after school at a local service station as a driveway attendant.
One day when the mechanical staff were flat out, the manager asked him to top-up a car with oil to complete an oil and filter change. Using the power filler he topped it off until he could see it in the rocker cover.
Needless to say he was never asked to assist in the mechanical bay again.
We still give him **** about it today 30+ years later.
