Oil on clutch plate

My friend's newly installed clutch is slipping a bit (clutch and flywheel were installed). A new rear main seal was installed, but it seems to be leaking. If oil gets on the face of the plate, will that cause the clutch to slip? Also, what can I use to clean off the face of the clutch plate when I have everything out to replace the rear main seal? Thanks

Did you check to see if the rear stationary gear o-ring was leaking while you had the flywheel out? Also it may take a 100+ miles for the new clutch plate to break in.

We broke the clutch plate in for at least 500 miles. I replaced the rear main seal... i didn't know that I should have checked the rear stationary gear o-ring ( didin't know there was one if it is different than the rear main seal).
