oil from the BOV...

Have you checked your BOV for oil residue lately?
How much is normal?

oil being expelled from BOV usually means turbo is going bye bye. oil seals on compressor side are letting oil pass from the CHRA to the housing .. thus oil in the IC tract as well as oil coming out of BOV. a little oil is normal. excessive oil isnt.

Oil bypass is normal for most turbo systems. If you are seeing oil in your air cleaner like you would in an early Volkswagen air cleaner (you actually poured oil into it) then yes, you have mess of a turbo. Though, even with an excessive amount of oil spewing out, it doesn't necessarily mean that the turbo is all of the sudden going to blow up or seize. It simply means that your turbos will not be as efficient slinging mud around. It also means that you will go through a lot of oil. Reminds me of old Indian motorcycles where they actually spit used oil to the ground. They had a oil tank where the gas tank would normally be, and the rider would have to pump the oil into the system while puking used oil at the same time. In the same respect, our RX-7 were designed to consume oil (something easily seen as faulty by the untrained eye.), and a leaking turbo seal could be seen as an inherent design for the RX-7. Of course most people would like for there not to be an oil leak, but then again, how do you really keep oil from leaking around an axle that spins at warp speed?

what are you saying is "normal"? a little dripping out of BOV? mine has always had a little in the line ever since around 9k miles. but has seemed to have gotten slightly worse as the miles have been added on...

My turbos spit a little too. When I remove the air hoses from the BOV and CRV, there is just enough that it's noticeable, no drips or small puddles, only residue. My car runs fine now, however I don't have a boost gauge yet, so I can't say for certain if I'm running healthy or not, but feels okay.

My car had an Apexi dual chamber BOV on it when I bought it. There was a little bit of oil residue on it, but I'm pretty sure that's normal. I just wiped it off. No big deal.

I've got some too. My turbos still feel strong. All I do is wipe things up. Unless there's oil EVERYWHERE in your car, you should be alright. Nonetheless, baby the turbos and let them cool for at least one minute regardless of how you drove the car. Make those babies last. I'm hoping that babying my car will extend the engine life so I can get over 100K on the engine and original turbos. I'll cross my fingers. :)

Yeah mine spits out a lil bit of oil as well..
