Oil addatives

Are some oil addatives like 'prolong' ok to put in a rotorary?? Specifically a 94' 7... I have herd different things, like you can't use synthetic oils and such, but I put some prolong in there with out even thinking about it.
Should I drain the oil / freak out / etc.. ?

Yes, freak out. Prolong is know for trashing apex seals.;) j/k.

Don't use any additives. Just use good oil syn or dino.

I put some MMO (Marvel Mystery Oil) in my oil every change. I noticed that my compression has also gone up since i have been using it.

The PROLONG shouldn't hurt, but yeah....stay away from additives. The only thing I add is a little bit of Marvel Mystery Oil when I do oil changes and a little bit (6 oz. or so) to the gas every other fill up.

You shouldn't have to drain the oil or anything drastic like that. You may notice a slight odor....should be about it.

Lucas makes good additives. I've used the fuel inj. lubricant, and the oil additive along with my castrol
20/50 for years and has always seemed to work really well for me. Just my 2 cents worth.

More then you ever wanted to know about motor oil is in this link:

Hear is the part on oil additives:

Oil additives should not be used. The oil companies have gone to great lengths to develop an additive package that meets the vehicle's requirements. Some of these additives are synergistic, that is the effect of two additives together is greater than the effect of each acting separately. If you add anything to the oil you may upset this balance and prevent the oil from performing to specification.

how much MMO do you add to the oil at change time???

Snook 03-01-04 11:11 PM

valvoline tcw3 no ash 2 stroke oil

quality, use it. I do ~6oz for every 10 gallons

I have put in all my cars (both in differential & engine) Motorkote 100, metal improver...in essence it an organic matter (no tefloen etc) that goes into the metal and reduces wear.
I have seen huge improvement in gear box.

Does anyone add MMO to syntheic oil? it doesnt say anything on the bottle that you cant - but then again it doesnt say you can.

And MMO Premix on gas definitely allows for a better idle.

Snook 03-02-04 12:59 PM

i was talking about what I add in my gas tank sorry

dont add anything to your oil. Just use normal oil not synthetic and change it every 1500 miles max. Thats the right way to do it and its proven. You have to change the oil often its really the only thing you can do to maintain the car so do it.

suprfast 03-02-04 01:02 PM

i usually add about 1/4 quart of MMO to my oil when changing it and about 4-6 ounces in my fuel. good stuff. i noticed that it cleaned up the white gunky shit around the oil cap. cant say if it has done anything, but i like that stuff. i know its proven itself in other occassions. i use it, i swear by it.
