Official Cheap (but good) Mods Thread
Alright, I have spent as much money as I can right now, but I want to keep making my car better and better. Right now I am going to put a grounding system on, home made, the $15 style. My question what other mods can be done to help car performance, reliability, power, and overheating problems without spending tons of money?

Engine that doesn't overheat due to $9 part: Priceless. |
there's a miata thermoswitch on the 3rd gen parts board right now. one of the better cheap mods.

Wow, someone mentioned cheap, and here I am.
Since this is the Official Cheap mod thread, it must include cheap mods that Dex Mex doesn't need on his car. Of course, I have to mention the Cheap Bastard intake. It works as well or better than the expensive cold air intakes at a fraction of the cost. It also passes smog (visual and sniff tests) :) https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/cheap-stock-airbox-mod-121491/ The Home Depot boost controller is also a great cheap mod. |
Cheap way to decrease coolant temps:
