Odometer reading?
 

Quick question guys I have a 92 FD when I bought it the odometer wast working but I have another gauge cluster from my other 92. My question is if I swap that cluster in will it show the mileage of the new car or just still show the old mileag of the car it was taken out of? I'm trying to figure out how many this 92 has. thanks

No, it won't show the correct mileage. It will show the mileage of the new cluster/old car.

Yes, there probably is. You can have the original odometer repaired or fix it yourself. To go the DIY route:

Or you could take the cluster to a repair shop near you (I see you are in Japan) and have them repair it. Should then show the proper mileage. I guess it's possible someone could read the mileage off of your old cluster but I don't know how to do that. They could then program your new cluster to this mileage.

I think I remember seeing Dale's thread about a DIY guide to change odometer chip from one cluster to another. supposedly to transfer stored mileage from old cluster.

Yeah, search on my user name, there is a chip in the speedo that contains the odometer reading. It can be de-soldered and soldered into the new cluster so you keep your odo.
