Odometer not reading

As the title states my odometer is not showing numbers, but the backlight and speedo works just fine. I was reading through some threads on here took it apart yet could not find anything burned out.

Two things I would like to note, first I had issues with the radio turning off when I would hit the brakes, but then it would immediately come back on, this was typically only during night driving with headlights on or other accessories. At some point late last summer, that stopped ie radio would no long cut out, I do not recall doing any changes other than the fact I would put the battery on trickle charge, I have a 51series battery. Now what happen at that point was the odometer stopped reading, there must be some correlation but I have yet to pin it down. When I was pulling the gauge cluster I could here something using power around the gauge cluster area, I found out it was the plug that connects behind the odometer/speedometer., could that have any correlation to the odometer not reading?

Been through 2 clusters with this issue. I did find that if I disconnect the battery (both terminals) and charged the battery fully, the display would return (for a while).

DNA speedometers in Tampa has fixed a number of these for forum members.

Great writeup on changing the capacitors, but that never worked for me. My current odometer works for weeks at a time, then goes out until I do the battery thing.

Send it to Zepco in Texas. Most likely you have a burnt capacitor on the board.
