O2 Sensor Replacement / Bosch 5 Wire?

hello,

Could i just replaced my oem o2 sensor with a wideband sensor like bosch 5 WIRE ?

here is a pic

He would need a wideband module of some sort to drive the sensor. This sensor will fail quickly if not powered. A Datalogit would only be for logging - it does not power the sensor. And this sensor will not give the narrowband output that the PFC is expecting (though you can tell the PFC to ignore the O2 sensor).

So - with a PFC you could run with no sensor at all.

I WOULD JUST A WIDEBAND SENSOR TO MEASURE AFR with my power fc,

Not gonna work. The sensor is only part of a wideband - you need the controller box and the whole 9 yards. The PowerFC itself can't do anything with a wideband sensor - the Datalogit is necessary if you want to log what the wideband is doing, and even then you need a full wideband kit.

In other words, it won't work.

If i buy "innovate Motorsports LC-1 Wideband O2 Lambda Sensor Kit " with datalogit ,
i could work for o2 oem replacement ,


PLX Devices M-300 Wide Band Oxygen Sensor Kit could work too, without datalogit?

Wideband sensors do not have the same output as the stock O2 narrowband sensor. If you want to run without the stock O2 sensor you need one of two things:

. a wideband controller than also outputs a narrowband signal that can be fed to the PFC. Very few wideband controllers do this. I don't think the two you mentioned do, but I could be wrong.

or

. a Datalogit to tell the PFC to ignore the stock O2 sensor. You will still need a wideband controller to drive the sensor.

If you want to log, you need a Datalogit.

Actually, any of the currently available wideband setups can output a simulated narrowband signal. That you need it with the PFC anyway, as you can tune cruise and light vacuum areas and turn off the o2 feedback.

u need a microcontroller that reads the sensor voltage and translate into something else.
like AFR 9 to 14 = 1 to 5 V etc...
basically just the sensor itself doesn't work. unless u know how to decipher the 5 cable into some readable voltage and calibrate it along with a home made voltmeter <=> AFR value.

safe yourself big troubles... get innovate LM1 or LC1 with digital meter.

That's not true, as any of the wideband kits only output 0-5V. The wideband controller is mostly for heating the sensor. The conversion to an actual AFR occurs in a gauge or by polynomials set up in the FC-Datalogit or other datalogging program.

TBH i would just ditch the stock 02 and run with nothing.
