this is not a stock rad so what is it?
 

So I am doing a bunch of stuff to my car and decide to put my Fluidyne rad in finally. I eject the existing rad from the car thinking its a stocker but it isn't. Its all metal and appears to be a three row core (its 1 7/8 inch thick) I was expecting to basically toss it but maybe its worth something to someone seeing as how its a larger core and all metal. If I'd of known thats what was in there I'd of left the fucker alone! Is it just a generic repacement?

Pics, Plus a reciept I dug up from original owner. Could this be right, its a mazda rad from the dealership? You see the price tag on that sucker!

It looks like a nice radiator, with what appears to be copper tanks. You may not be gaining much with the Fluidyne.

Since it doesn't appear to be a Mazda part number, I'm going to guess it's not built by Mazda. It might be the Mazdaspeed radiator, which is built by AWR. However, the Mazdaspeed / AWR radiator core is 1.125" thick, and yours appears to be thicker than that. Either way, Fluidyne is a good name but I'm not sure I would throw the old one away just yet...

It's an aftermarket all metal radiator. You can get them from most wholesale parts stores, radiator shops and possibly Autozone, Pep Boys and the like. It's probably the best bang for buck radiator you can buy. BTW, I have one for sale if anyone needs one.

I agree with HDP. There are a lot of places you can get an all-metal replacement radiator such as RADIATOR WORLD and a host of others. Plus any good radiator shop can simply make one, I had a custom 4-row unit built for my Suburban by a local shop.
Simply put, that radiator you took out is one helluva radiator! What mileage is on it? You could easily sell that in the 'For Sale' section, but personally if it is in good shape....I'd put it back in and sell the FLUIDYNE.

yup it pretty much cost me 400 bucks to save a couple pounds. How was I to know that was in there? I got all the service history from the dealership, that rad was put in about 45000km ago. The car originally came from kelowna, it gets hotter than shit there in the summer, probably why they went with a larger core I would guess.

I would keep the one you have now and sell the Fluidyne or return it if possible. Save the extra money to use on other mods.

Its to late, I've had the fluidyne for awhile. Soo my next question is what's it worth, I might as well pass it on to someone needing a decent rad. I've searched online and cant find any "metal" type rads to compare it to and get an idea of what I should ask for it. Thanx

It seems RadiatorWorld doesn't have the 'metal' radiators on their website. All that's listed are the aluminum ones.

I've seen that rad but I think its a stock size core. Thanx though, I'll post it for sale and see what kind of responce I get about price and go from there.
