not putting turbo heat shields, is it bad?
 

anyone has any experience with that?

i wouldnt do it considering the amout of heat the turbos put off. With all the effort to keep the engine bay cool and fab heat shields to keep intake temps down why run with out the heat shields.

Keep the heat shields. The engine wiring harness runs not too far above them. Heat rises...

well the thing is that i put everything back and forgot to install them.

Should i tear everything apart or just leave it like that?

that is a lot of work to remove everything.

I didn't use one for 5k miles running 17lbs. Didn't notice anything. I was also using BNR stage 2s and they might stay a bit cooler than stockers

werd, gotta be able to see the turbo. i don't have mine on either. i know i should put them back on.

The problem with that is that the the stock turbo manifolds are cast iron, and cast iron is one of the best metals for heat retention, so after a hard run all that heat from the 1700* exhaust is held in that cast iron, causing it to just bake the crap out of the wiring harness. Keep the shields!

my FC one is holding up really well and it's been over a year.

I would keep them on for the abs and other stuff but i let the turbos run free.

LOL. I did the same efing thing. So I modified it a bit to get it in there and do some good, that was 50Kkm ago, seems to be fine, oh I also have an HKS downpipe.

i did the same as you, but you can easily put it on from underneith the car. will take you approximately 20 mins w/ a cigarette break to complete.

The shitty FD I got had nasty connectors so I just bought a jspec for 150 and reloomed. Better than new with the resistor mod.
