not enough boost, non-sequentially
Hey, I just got an HKS downpipe put on my '94 Touring. The turbos are set up nonsequentially. I may have done it wrong though. I opened up the pre-spool door, and the turbo control door. I plugged the hoses on the charge control, and I spliced the other BOV into the first one. I didn't mess with the wastegate control solenoids. Does it matter if I unplug those hoses and stop them up, or are that step only to prevent the turbo control and prespool arms from moving?
Before the downpipe, I was getting 5 psi, with a good bit of lag. With the downpipe, there's still some lag (a little less), but I'm only getting 6 psi. Do I have a leak, or what? How can I get 10 psi? Any comments are appreciated. |
If you haven't done a search go ahead and do one. There are tons of threads on non sequential. There might be some good info there. My brother is going to go non sequential and he had found lots of good stuff.

Do you still have the pill in the wastegate line? You should try a smaller pill, or use a boost controller.

Is it 6psi throughout the rev range or just above 4500RPM's? Check all your solenoids and lines for leaks. I still had a boost leak after going non-sequential and fixed it by capping off all the solenoid lines I no longer needed.

The pills are still there. And it's 6 psi throughout the RPM's.
