Is this normal?!
 

Well some dumb drunk t-boned my daily driver and i have been using the Rx7 the past few days regularly. I noticed a burnt plastic smell from the rear andfound my cat-back exhaust was beggining to sear the bottom of the bumper! I have owned a third gen before this one and never noticed my exhaust getting that hot. I spit on it and it spaated off like it was boiling. I know how hot the turbos and downpipe can get but is this normal? The temp gauge does run slightly above normal(I mean just barely). I know the car has nver overheated and it does run perfect 10'8'10 w/58000 miles. It has a downpipe and cat-back. Still has main cat. Any ideas?
