yea thats what i was thinkin, but drivin to school today i saw a clean lookin fd and it got me thinkin. anyways thanks!

olyrx7 01-26-06 12:52 AM

If you have patience and you properly build a single turbo FD, then you will not regret it. That way you can have an na Supra as a daily driver, and an awsome FD for the weekends.

go to school much?

silverTRD 01-26-06 01:37 AM

this form is just a bit bias. i would say get an fd unless you had a tt supra, then i'd say sell it and get an fd. lol

Taikutsu 01-26-06 02:35 AM

hmm and coming from experience...if youre going to school still...i dunno how much youd enjoy the fd...haha...i think the supra would give you less headaches

go easy on supercolt, im sure he's just some rich kid whos parents have too (not two supercolt) much money. but i would go with the FD, whats the point of having an NA supra?

also, someone give supercolt a grammar lesson please. i know mine isn't all that great but sweet baby jesus get a clue.

I think mostly, he just didn't use any punctuation or capitalization...

IF your not ready to spend tons of Fkng money on repairs, then i wouldn't consider the trade for an FD :)

recon fd 01-26-06 07:27 AM

Hey, even though supercolt is a newb himself, he tried to help the guy out by pointing him in the direction of the "search" function.

I would keep the supra until you have the money to pput into the FD. If you have the money NOW, then I wouls still keep the supra and buy a FD as a toy. DD the supra and baby the FD.

goodluck,

ughhh yeah

damn no offense man, but, it was starting to give me headache just trying to get through supercolt's post.

Its so funny how week old newbies chime in to answer the other newbies questions, like you guys are giving good info? hopefully you will all evolve someday!:rlaugh:
Do a search and find out what you want to know about this car, don't be lazy. If your serious, do some homework. Don't throw out rediculous opinion threads for people to tell you what to do. Read the FAQ. learn and then do what you feel is the best for your situation. Goodluck.:icon_tup:

recon fd 01-26-06 08:06 AM

^^^ hahahahaaa I am not defending his grammar skills, or the lack there of, I was jsut saying it was good to see a newbie helping another newbie with the "amazing" search function.

heres my 2 cents: if you own the supra, take out a loan from capitol one with it as colaterol (sp?), use that money to build a 2jz and buy managment and a single turbo. that way your paying monthly bills for a fast car that not going to break quicte as much. ive seen it done before... worked out well.

purerx7 01-26-06 09:01 AM

Hmm your 19, i dont ever regret buying my 7, but i have poured so much money into it, that I know i will never get back. If i were you, i would keep the supra and go na-t. Thats what one of my friends is doing, here is a pic of his na supra.

FDNena 01-26-06 09:12 AM

Stick with the Supra and convert it. The 7 is a lot more work and money in the long run. They are both sexy looking cars! In the end if you are looking for power the Supra should be cheaper to upgrade all around.

good luck! :icon_tup:

silverTRD 01-26-06 11:22 AM

i know if i were to get the supra i would get a turbo model with the 6 speed. that'd be tits. also, if im not mistaken the comp. ratio's are different on the NA's,quite a bit higher, which would make safe boost levels have to be a lot lower. personally thats not a supra i would like to own...unless you can do a complete engine/tranny swap, then game on!

rescueranger 01-26-06 02:10 PM

i dont know anything bout supras .. but you cant just slap a turbo on an NA supra?

to sound cliche ... grass is always greener on the otherside

I have nightmares thinking of parking my FD anywhere in my college town. I think it's a little too flashy for drunk college students. I kind of think a Supra is too for that matter. That's why I leave my FD back at home.

If I were you, I'd keep your Supra and do the engine/tranny swap. I think you'll be way better off and richer in the long run.

TurboTagTeam 01-26-06 03:59 PM

If you are gonna buy a Fd make sure you do you'r homework first. Our cars are VERY touchy. THe wrong mods in the wrong sequence will cost you you'r motor. Engine Management and Cooling are the key to long engine life.

If I were you I'd keep the supra for a Daily Driver. From what I here those things are bulletproof. If you want a awesome weekend racer or a date night car-RX-7 is the way to go.

There are many people who drive there FD's daily (ME). But it is a full time job keeping a highly modified one working properly.(I would know)

Rmagic13b 01-26-06 04:52 PM

hmmm well if ur still in school i would stick wit ur supra, its not like a supra is a bad car...trust me im 16 and i have a fd its hard maintaing it unless ur made of money..lol and no im not made of money either, half the time i drive a different car, but then again its ur money and u have the right to do what ever you please with it.

California Dreaming 01-26-06 06:24 PM

Like others have said, I wouldn't advise getting a FD especially since you are still a student. Unless you have excessive funds, I'd put the FD off for a few years.
