nonsequential boost problems
 
This problem just started happening about three days ago (I've been running nonsequential for about 5 months with no problems until now). I'm overboosting right now to 14+psi. I usually have a solid 10psi with the occassional creep to 12psi on cooler days, but now the boost shoots up to 14+psi with no signs off stopping by itself...its a good thing my power fc limited the boost to go further by bogging the engine with fuel or else I would be in serious trouble. I have the poormans nonsequential conversion performed on the car (took off turbo control actuator and wire the gate open) What could be causing this problem? My engine mods are poorman nonseqential, m2 large smic, 3"dp, high flow cat, m2 catback, turbo xs rfl bov, and apexi power fc. Could this possible be the charge control solenoid letting it boost past my orinal boost pattern? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running a boost controller? If not, get one, period. Manual or electronic. Just do it.

Make sure the wastegate linkage is not binding. Also get a mityvac and test the WG actuator.

I just tried puting on my turbosmart mbc following the instructions on this link https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-gen-archives-73/my-boost-control-setup-perfect-10-8-10-pattern-242324/ ...but it was still doing the same thing spiking past 14+psi. When I checked my wastgate solonoid I noticed a little oil on the nipple...could this have possible clogged up my solonoid to stop it from functioning properly? I also did another experiment when I disconnected the vacuum line from the wastgate actuator (doesn't this automatically makes the car boost 7psi?) but it still spiked 14+psi. I haven't had a chance to physically check the linkage of the wastegate actuator to the turbo because the heatshield is blocking it. Any more suggestions on what the problem could be? Or does anybody have another diagram of how to hook up a manual boost controller to the wastegate actuator?

if removing the line to the waste gate resulted in the same behavior as leaving it connected I would guess the wastegate is not operating. Whether its binding, disconnected from the actuator, or the actuator is not working is what needs to be determined. As car hugger said, get a mighty vac and test the waste gate actuator.
