NonSequential Boost Issue
 

I just converted my car to full nonsequential and replaced my original turbos with low mileage ones that have a ported waste gate. In the process I installed a manual valve boost controller. Now the turbos at 3k hit .5 bar instantly but only steadly climb to .6-.7 bar at about 6k. I have adjusted the controller more open and less open and the same result happens. Previously the other set of turbos I had on would hit .9 bar at about 5k rpm till redline but smoked like crazy when you let off the gas and blew oil everywhere. Is there any way to get that kind of response out of these new turbos? I searched but really didn't find what I was looking for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

what sort of man. boost controller are you using? is it aftermarket or homemade? what type of valve (ball, needle, etc)?

I had an Issue as well with the Needle Valve one after going non-seq.

I went out and bought a Turbosmart In Cabin MBC and it fixed the problem. For some reason my vent never worked right after the switch and it kept the boost at 7psi.

The Turbosmart MBC acts as it's own vent to increase the boost and it works like a champ, I'm now getting a solid 12psi.

If you want to stick with the Needle Valve, make sure the vent nipple on the Wastegate actuator is still connected, if it isn't (some non-seq. write-ups tell you to cap it), it won't vent at all and open at a lower psi then you would like.

Ok thanks. I have the vent nipple capped. I will check that first and see if it does anything. I never even though to run without a boost controller untill now to see what it does. If I get good response I will just go buy a "high quality" contoller as you did. I am only shooting for 13-14 psi....

Just be careful, if the MBC you have isn't set right when you start the test it might overboost. Make sure to connect the line and then open the valve all the way. As you run it then start turning it closed in small amounts till you finally hit the desired pressure.
