Non-Sequential Conversion - pics
 

I've got a lot from this site over the past year - both in terms of technical knowledge as well as good ideas and motivation. So to all here, a big Thank You!

I'd like to give something back, so I thought I'd document my non-sequential conversion. I couldn't find a full step-by-step guide when I was researching this mod, so I hope this will be of some help to people. I've done some things a bit differently too, so this may provide some food for thought.

I've not finished the conversion yet. Still waiting out on the gearbox, which is the limiting factor at the moment. Thought I may as well spend some time documenting it.

I was a little unsure at first, but it seems like a step in the right direction - makes everything simpler and cleans up the airflow. So I thought sod it, I'll do it!

The pics are from the Ionian islands in Greece. Just came back from there, we hired a yacht and mucked about for a week. Did you check out the wakeboarding off the back of the yacht.

Just don't tell the owner, OK!

Maybe he's not familiar with nopistons? Dunno. Good pics on your site man (both RX7 related and non-RX7 related). Everytime I start a job on the car, I say I'm going to document it, but end up just getting to involved with it and forget to take pics and such. lol.

why would u want a single turbo?

its not a single turbo, its two working as one. It cleans up the rats nest, delivers a more predictable boost pattern, and makes it a lot easier to trouble shoot things when the shit hits the fan

the ricers think twin turbo is better than one ;)

I'm doing my conversion slightly differently though, so hopefully it'll bring something to the party!

The only thing I noticed was your last pic (DSC02878) the vacuum lines blocked on the primary turbo. Usually one of those is used for boost control. Not sure if you have some other plan, just thought I'd point it out.

Good point. I'm still waiting out on a boost controller, so it's still much of a work in progress. I'll amend the error when I get back in the workshop!

Great job documenting. I remember when I went throught the poor mans to see if I liked it. I'm full NS now and I love it.
