non-sequential boost question
midpipe
downpipe all emissions removed full non-sequential twins ported wastegate stock ecu stock intake stock cat back small exhaust leak I am wondering i am only boostin 5 to 6 lbs wich is no biggie till i upgrade the ecu. But shouldn't i b boostin a lil more what could b the culprit herei have no boost controller. but i was under the impression that i was going to get a little creep not b running low boost any suggestions? could it be the pill in the vacume line for the wastegate actuator? any suggestions would b great. my idle 600 rpm ing or vacume is at 15 at idle |
No, you have a boost leak. Start at the turbos and work your way to the throttle body. Who did the full non-seq conversion?
|
i did i can't imagine what could b leakin i know i reasrched and reasrched and took my time and made sure to do everything right any oyher suggestions any it could b a bad bov it is stock

The stock BOV rarely goes bad, but you can troubleshoot it using Section F of the FSM. Like I asked above, who did the non-seq conversion? Perhaps there is a problem with that.
Have you actually removed all the couplers and carefully checked for splits. You cannot rely on just a visual inspection. |
i did the non conversion and did it right took out the pre controll actuator wellded the hole on the manifold and the turbo manifold ported wastegate took out the tca and the butterfly in y pipe pluged the egr but now u say that a split can cause that much of a loss in boost i do remember sein what appeared to b a smaaa slit on the coupler from the y pipe to the elbo goin to the intercooler i will check it more tomorrow
and i know but whare can i get a fsm so far i riely on this site for all my info |
what rynberg said....i had a problem like yours and took the couplers off and looked at them, still wasn't fix...took them off again and really look at them ...replaced the stock bov hose(it was split were it connects to the y-pipe)
and also replaced the y-pipe couplers ( it was also split) but didnt look like it...the first time...try to stretch out the couplers... brad |
