Non Seq STILL I HAVE BOOST PROBLEMS!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ok I needed to Vent.

Ok every vacuum hose (the 3 or 4 that are left) are all VERY correct. Map Sensor etc etc. I closed the wastegates all the way and I still got NO BOOST (barely 5 psi) ANYONE and I mean anyone care to explain this please!

This is with a Downpipe and a gutted cat ONLY not even a muffler!

BTW I checked the turbos and their was barely any shaft play and they spun without much of force. The bearings still seem very good.

So you pulled the control lines to the WG and still saw 5 psi?

Boost leak.

Did you remove the charge control valve from the y-pipe?

Ive check EVERYTHING, Ive got new couplers, so thats not it. Yes I pulle the butterfly thing in the y-pipe. I have a feeling it has something to do with the flappers Ive been reading about. Im supposed to wire them open.

you should remove the one in the exhaust manifold, and weld the precontrol door open or shut...wiring could work...do it right though.

what IC do you have...if you have the stock IC hoses I bet the lower is split in the seam.

Anyone have pics of the two flappers UNDER the car?
For now I need to wire them because its my daily driver.
When I start spring break, it can go down for a week. To do all that work.

I got 5psi when my lower stock intercooler hose splited.

I BARELY got this, and with an entirely closed wastegate I should be able to get above this.

Split in a couple was my first guess but since you said you replaced them all, I guess not. Do you still have any of the stock rubber piping?
The Flappers.....If I recal...would just get pushed open by the exhaust.....causing maybe a slower spool up but not a reduction in overall boost levels. Try wiring them open anyways though, I used coat hangers they work great (I feel so ghettare). Watch that boost like a hawk or reconnect the wastegate...it would suck to fix the one problem and then immediately blow the engine (something I would do).
good luck

You might not, my split would let me see no more than 6 psi and I would normally see 16psi, the rip just kept enlarging as the pressure would try to build, worked like a regulator. Although I was very easily able to hear the boost leaking from inside the car while punchin it.

im going to try to wire it open, then check around for boost leaks. Also going to check if maybe the BOVs are staying open.
