Non-seq mod

i just hope i dont get bashed too hard for this.

just to set the record straight, i am fully aware that there are 1000 threads on this, but its because there are so many threads on it, i am having a problem fully understanding what it is i need to do. a lot of the threads use different methods to achieve non-seq. one thread will say do it this way while another will say do it that way. i'm having a hard time figuring out what i need to do but i believe i may have grasped the entirety of the mod but i would like to be 100% with some expert advice......

the mods i need to make by component are as follows:
MANIFOLD
-cut the tca flapper out and weld shut whatever hole that creates
Y-PIPE
-remove the plate from inside of it and seal the hole with a bolt
TURBOS
-take them apart and port the wastegate using the spray paint trick. (spray paint trick being when you spray over the flapper on the wastegate and when you lift it up, you have the perfect outline of where you need to port.)
-remove lower actuator with the bracket on it
MOTOR
-follow vacuum diagram for non-seq
-remove the fat actuator from the bottom of the turbo area.

do i have this correct? am i missing something? what is the purpose of porting the wastegate?

:scratch::scratch:

Well, im in the middle of putting a block together. The donor rats nest was fossilized. Since i already have everything off the motor i would like to do it the ''correct'' way.

The one you posted seems legit but i dont have a rats nest anymore. Im not sure if not having the stock set up to modify would work the same.

quick question,

how did you go about cutting out the flapper doors? the hobby shop didnt have anything that worked.

turboIIrotary Nov 8, 2012 01:04 PM

I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel.

one last question. in the rotary resurrection write up, he deletes the fpr solenoid. in the vacuum diagram it tells me to have it installed. does it matter if its there or not?

turboIIrotary Nov 11, 2012 09:19 PM

You don't need it. What diagram are you using?
