Noltec Engine Mount Clocking?

So for the people who bought the noltec engine mounts. How did you people clock them so that they dont impact the subframe? Just curious because if installed like wanklin's slideshow depict, one of the locking tabs hits the subframe. Let me know.

They pretty much only fit with the tabs toward the rear of the car, so thats how I clock them... if I remember right

Yeah looks like they might only fit with the tabs facing the front of the car. Kinda super lame that, that wasnt covered in the "installation" write up/slideshow thing. It could be kind of important. The only reason that i was concerned was because of the locking mechanism. It would seem to me that, that would only really do a good job if it was in a certain reference to the engine movement under load. But what do i know. Screw it, i'm just putting then in the only way they fit. If anyone knows any different let me know and i'll adjust them as necessary.

Oh man. So i guess no one actually installed their mounts after they got them from the group buy. And furthermore, why do a writeup about how to install them and not show how to properly install them...at the very least. Kinda lame and pretty frustrating trying to install the mounts like wanklin shows in his "writeup" only to find out that it is impossible to have them installed that way.

You angle them inward and forward. The driver's side mount should be at about 1:30 o'clock and the pass side mount at about 10:30 o'clock, as viewed from above.

In nick and rob's defense, they used to have a nice pictorial showing the proper orientation, but I think it was lost during a forum hack/refresh.

Actually (using your picture), I found clocking them at ~ 7:30 (driver's) and ~ 4:30 (passenger) worked best. I can't remember for sure why now, It may have had something to do with the heatshield in place on the passenger side, and I just oriented the driver's side the same. But there were no issues regardless.

Do you still like the Noltec's ? Is it fairly vibration-free and close to stock performance on vibration ?

Can't compare them to any other poly mounts, but I'm happy.
Any of the aftermarket poly mounts will probably control movement well....certainly better than stock while lasting longer. What surprised me about the Noltecs was the fact there was no noticable increase in NVH. Unlike what I've read from others, I have no vibration at any engine speed. But it still controlled movement well enough that I sold my ETB.
