Noise After Deceleration....

After i reach around 3000rpm and higher, and i quickly take my foot off the accelerator, i get a sound from my turbos like there is air flowing the opposite way. I dont really get this noise sitting still, mostly when im on the move. I have no idea how to describe the sound, but its loud, and maybe like a vacuum cleaner turning off. (?):dunno: (RMMmmmm, hahaha)

I am guessing that maybe my BOV or something like it isnt releasing air, , cause i have no idea what the problem is. I am somewhat sure that I already have a turbo actuator problem (rattling at cold startup, and at low rpms), so could that make that backing up air sound? Plus my original precat is still installed, and im sure that doesnt help.....

REALLY sorry if this has been addressed before, or im not describing enough, im just hoping to get some feedback so i know where to at least start! THANKS

do you have a boost gauge?

johnnymase 01-08-08 08:57 PM

workin on that, should have one in a couple weeks. So you think i should just wait till i get that installed, then come back to the forum?? Thanks for the reply by the way.....

It sounds like you may be describing the noise made by the hose that vents back into the stock airbox. If it is that hose, it is supposed to make that noise.

Get out of the car, and rev the engine from under the hood. You shoudl be able to hear where it is coming from.

how long has it done this for? Are you a new owner?

johnnymase 01-09-08 12:33 AM

yeah im a new owner, and i dont remember it making this noise until after a few weeks of driving it.

Plus its a somewhat loud noise, so i was just assuming its not normal, and like i said it didnt make this noise before.....

Yeah, i think this weekend i'll have the wife help me out, and see if maybe i get lucky and notice something i didnt notice before:dunno:
