no tension on clutch pedal
 

Ive just done an engine install. bolted up all good but when I put my foot on the clutch now its way to easy, almost like its got no tension at all. anyone have this problem before? I'd hate to have to unbolt the tranny again

maybe try checking the both the brake master cylinder or the clutch master cylinder, & check for any leaks and rebleed the system

Did you happen to remove the clutch once you pulled the engine? If the clutch plate was installed backwards this may be your issue.

Check to make sure the slave cylinder was installed correctly. Did you look under the car to see if you have any fluid leaking? Also, you'll need to bleed the clutch if everything else is ok.

Take off the inspection plate and have a friend push the clutch in. You can see if it is disengageing the clutch or not, and go from there. Oh and make sure your slave is seated properly into the end of the clutch fork if it was not that would explain it not having much preasure.

Ive checked and there is no leaking anywhere at all. how do you bleed the system?

Just like you bleed the brakes. The slave cylinder has a bleed valve on it. If you don't have a mity-vac or power bleeder, you'll need someone to pump the clutch pedal while you crack the bleeder.

One thing to watch out for is the fluid level. The OEM brake fluid reservoir is divided into two sections: one for the brakes and one for the clutch. If you aren't paying attention, you'll run the clutch side dry while you are bleeding (since you may only notice the brake side).

Did you re-engage the clutch when you put the engine in.If its a pull type.

how do you re engage the clutch, I've looked in the peep hole in the trans and I think your right, It looks as though the ring that's supposed to go over the release bearing to lock it in place has not done so. Can I re engage the clutch through the peep hole or is this a whole trans drop job?

Yeah you have to push the throwout bearing into the clutch so it clips in there, two secound job.
