No Spark from Leading Coil

OK so this morning life is good. The car is running fine. I get under it to double check that all my bolts are tight and to run a new wastegate line. I also finished reinstalling my interior after a battery relocation (note: this was already done and the car was running and cranking fine, I was just installing some interior pieces)

I go to crank it this afternoon. Car turns over like a champ, but doesn't start. *%#$%. Pull the plugs. They are clean, so I get my brother to crank the car so I can check for spark. Trailing is firing strong. Leading gives nothing.

I rip the UIM manifold off. Check the Leading Coil. It is within specs (less than 1 ohm A-B and ~13K ohms L1-L2). Checked all the fuses just for giggles, they are all good.

What do I need to check next?! Igniter? Could that give spark on trailing and not leading? of course i don't have the SST to check it, so hopefully it will be something else.

thanks.

Read some other threads and it looks like it might be a bad wire. I guess I will have to check tomorrow. My sparks are new and so are the wires.

This is irritating the crap out of me.

lead coil can pass the resistance test (esp cold) and still be toast

/\ yep. if you have a good test light (snap on or mac) you can probe the coil connector. one side should be steady power the other a switched ground pulse. these come from the ignitor. way to check alll the wiring since you are already there.

i dont have a good test light. so i check all my wires for continuity and everything seems to be fine from the ECU all the way to the coil.

i just looked up the part # for the igniter, but looks like they are pretty expensive new. I am gonna try and get one from someone local for a test. This is all kinds of irritating.

i seriously doubt it is the igniter.
