No power in 3rd gear during fast acceleration

No power/acceleration in 3rd gear during fast accelerations from stop. This happens occationally. Any ideas? Feels as if I'd put it into 5th instead of 3rd gear.

That happened to me a couple of times and i noticed both times that i missed 3rd and went into 5th. Are u sure ur not doing the same thing??

i felt that before when my car was still mostly stock. i've also heard a lot of people talk about that.

What is your boost curve?

tschangrx7 10-19-01 10:50 PM

Boost curve? Are you asking about the boost setting?
When set at high on PFS purple computer;
1st.turbo: 12psi
2nd: 15psi

I know for sure that I did not skip 3rd and put in the 5th gear by mistake because it's around 60mph when I switch from 2nd to 3rd, and at that speed, even if I had put in 5th by mistake, the car should have responded somewhat normally to my acceleration.
But no, the problem I'm sometimes running into feels as if I had put the car into a 10th gear from 2nd gear.

Lets forget about the boost settings.
What is your BOOST gauge telling you?

tschangrx7 10-20-01 08:37 PM

12 then 15psi

tschangrx7 10-20-01 08:40 PM

It happens so rarely that when it does happen, I don't look at the boost gauge at all. I'll keep an eye on it next time.

its deffinitely normal...just something about these cars. a lot of people say how the car throws you back in first and second then in third it feels like you just hit a brick wall....the car is still going fast obviously but there is just about no accelleration.
