No more carbon coming from the exhaust??

Until recently, my car spat out plenty of carbon out the exhaust. To me, the output of carbon meant that my engine was getting enough oil injected into the combustion process. Now all of a sudden I'm getting no carbon bits and my exhaust doesn't seem to be as rich as it used to. Otherwise, the car seems to run fine.
My flakey oil pressure gauge now jumps around 60psi+ at start when it normally reads around 30psi(or 0). The only thing I've done recently is change from 10w30 to 10w40 RP oil and changed out the tranny fluid with RP 70w90(well that and the replacing most of the intake). This is the 3rd oil change I've done on it. The previous owner used dino and switched it to RP back in Oct of 05. I checked and didn't get a cel code. The OMP was replaced 13k miles ago with a used one.
Could the change to "summer blend" gas cause these effects?
Or have I just finally gotten all the dino oil out of the system, I've only put 5k miles on the car since Sept of 05?
Or the OMP is kaput?
Or am I just over reacting?
Blocked oil injectors?
I'm going to try to have a look at the OMP lines to see if the new oil is in the lines.
Besides going through the FSM procedures for testing the OMP, anyone have any suggestions?

Hmm, where's a good spot to inspect some of the OMP lines??

Yosh, wat up, mmm good question, i think is over reacting ? since i know you, close to the main pulley for you or underneath the UIM or at the OMP , i will send you some pics of the new stuff i got for the car

My car has done the same thing, I was getting a layer of balck soot on my rear bumper every few days. Recently it has stopped, and suddenly bumper is staying clean for weeks at a time. I have no idea why this has happened, the car seems to be running great....for now?

Yeah, that's one of the things I thought might effect it. I just noticed it recently, and we just switched over to ethanol. Have you noticed anything different?

More than likely with Summertime temps heating up you're just not getting as much condensation in the exhaust system during startups. Also, the car will run richer as the summer temps warm up, so that could also be contributing to what you're seeing. Not sure. Mine never shot out soot until I took out the main cat and installed a midpipe. Now, there's a lot more soot on startup!

Good point, I didn't think about the lack of condensation. I noticed I wasn't getting any startup steam a while ago and didn't think anything of it.
