No lights NEED HELP

Ok, so i have no dash lights, no climate control lights, but i do have a odometer light.

I dont have any parking lights, but if i use my brakes my brake lights go on.

I checked my fuses, all are good, i swaped the relay and tps relays, the blue ones, with another rx7 that was working.

Still nothing, any idea's.

really need the help right now.

I had a similar issue several years ago, except I was blowing a fuse.

Mine ended up having a short in the wiring behind the radio in the dash.

i blew the BTN fuse under the hood. took out all sorts of stuff--lights, radio, locks, etc. I would check that.

I've check all the fuses, so im gonna look at the radio, what should I look for?

Thanks

Jump the white/green wire to the red/black wire where the TNS relay goes and see if the lights turn on. If not check if there is 12v at the white/green wire if there isn't check in this order.

I dont know what that means, but i checked the wires behind the radio and everything looks good. But still dont have parking lights or dash lights.

Have you done any work in the shifter area? I had this issue a while back after I changed my clutch. There is a wire that runs on top of the tunnel and it got pinched under the screw on the rubber boot for the shifter and it cause me to loose all the lights but parking lights and brake lights.

The Body Electric Troubleshooting manual (in the stickies) has diagnostic procedures for pretty much all electrical circuits in the car.

I just got the car so i really dont have much info about it, but when i pulled the center console off, there was a blue plug that i couldnt find what it went to, also for some reason, my radio ground was grounded to the plastic piece that covers the transmission, so was my hks turbo timer.

also my window switches dont work at all, the window swtich and mirrior adjusters dont work.

when i took out the radio, there was a set of wires cut, like 5 of them, what do those go to.

Did you look in the electrical wiring manuals in the stickies?

BlueTuner 12-20-10 06:28 PM

couldnt find the sticky (really didnt look to hard for it)

BUT good new i got everything working,

i just swaped a couple fuses that where the same around, and while i was doing that with the small fuse box that is connects the batteries positive, i heard a click when i grabbed the hole fuse box, so in my understanding it was ether,

a lose connection to the fuse box from the connector underneath the fuse box,
or
i had a blown fuse that didn't look blown.

but for now i do have all my lights back, hopefully i still have everything else because i haven't started the car yet.

But, im just gonna go to the store and buy new fuses for every fuse and replace them, just in case.

I appreciate all the help guys

Check your relays at the front of the car

Screw some wire caps onto the lose wires and see if that keeps the fuse from blowing. The blue wire in a car stereo set is typically a remote turn on lead for an amp or a power antenna. I had the exact same problem recently after a car stereo installation where the blue wire was blowing the fuse for the dash lights. In my case the blue wire was insulated to the tip but the small bit of copper on the very tip of the wire made contact with some metal behind the head unit which kept blowing that fuse.

Good luck.
