No EGR sticker part #? ('95 Fed')

Can someone who has a '95 please verify this part # N3D8-69-036A

It's under your hood but I am looking for the one that does "not" state "EGR", which I beleive is '95 only and possibly only the federal version and not CA as well.

What an interesting idea... :D According to the part lookup on www.mazdamotorsports.com , it's: N3D8-69-036A - LABEL,EMISSION .

The parts catalog (.pdf) lists it with a bit more detail: LABEL, EMISSION (Federal, MT).

The price is pretty reasonable, it's not like you've got to spend a lot of money to find out for sure.

Good Luck,

Well I already bought the sticker for the '94 federal, assuming only that CA models had EGR but apparenty it's the '95 that doesn't have it. I don't know if the '95 CA model still has it, so if anyone has a '95 "non" CA. USDM MT FD, can you please check the sticker under your hood. thanks!

are these stickers required by law or something? oh... maybe its just a cali thing?

GoRacer 02-17-05 11:15 AM

They have the emissions information, vacuum diagram, etc. They are there for mechanics and smog tech's. Whether it's required for it to be visable or illegal not to have it, I couldn't say. I've never heard of anyone being denied a smog test because of an aftermarket hood not having the stickers, allthough i've been denied for shiny pipes and aftermarket intake filter. If the sticker does not list EGR, then they will not look for one.

Oh come on now, who has a '95? ...I need to order these stickers allready.

Call up Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda and have him find you one. I do believe they're still available. If he gets it in, he can look at it and make sure it's what you want.

Scotty sent me a private email - I have a 95 (12/95 build) that was originally delivered in North Carolina.

Here's a pic of the sticker from under my hood.

GoRacer 02-20-05 03:05 PM

Cool, thanks Riccio. The picture isn't that clear but I do not see EGR at the end of the 4th (out of 5 ) line down and just above the last line (engine specification). It also does not mention anywhere that the sticker is for a 95.

Now, does anyone have a '95 "CA" model?

FWIW I went through my last smog check (Summer '04) with the stickers still covered in tape from when I had my car repainted. The technicians didn't say anything, or deny me testing. However, I've known my smog guys for a few years now and they are pretty lax even with the new stricter requirements.

Riccio 02-20-05 06:21 PM

It does say that the sticker applies to 1995 Model Year Vehicles - just above the part about Catalytic Converter.

Those are rain drops in the pic - it's been raining hard here almost all day. I ran out between downpours to get the pic. Unfortunately, the 95 FD sits in the drive.

GoRacer 02-20-05 07:45 PM

ok, they won't notice the year difference. Is yours a federal model or CA model? I'm just curious since it says your in Upland. I know in the parts fische the CA sticker looks longer.

Riccio 02-20-05 08:21 PM

I'm in Upland, but the FD spent the first 8 years of it's life in North Carolina.

Here's a better photo. Note that the blue Mazda tag is just to show the part number, and is not part of the sticker.

Yes
Sticker says California
Will post a pic

I went through this aggravation a few years ago. I needed a set of FEDERAL '95 decals (no EGR):
